- Tyson’s mom
“Tyson has ADHD and before coming to CLC we were frequently increasing his medication over a years time. He had a decreased appetite due to the meds, and wasn’t gaining weight. It was also very difficult to get him to settle for bed, and often took us a couple hours with him getting out of bed 6-8 times before getting him to sleep. Because of his ADHD and dyslexia, he felt isolated socially and just wasn’t sure of himself. He started to become more introverted, and didn’t want to play or socialize at school or extra curricular activities.
It was hard to watch him struggle, and we would question what we did wrong or what we missed as parents. You just want the best for your child, so seeing him take steps back socially was tough.
When we first came to Congruent Life, when the doctors explained that they would be working to balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic Nervous System that made so much sense to me. As a nurse, my brain just totally clicked and I felt like this was the last piece of the puzzle! Because we weren’t adding anything like meds, or other things into his body… my husband and I felt like we had nothing to lose!
We first noticed that Tyson’s care was making a difference at night time! Before, bedtime would take hours and was very stressful. After starting care we were able to decrease the melatonin we gave him every night and he would be able to settle down and go to sleep within an hour! It continues to improve, and some nights he’ll be out within 15 minutes! Bedtime is a lot less stressful now! He has also come out of his shell a lot. He is treating his struggles with dyslexia and ADHD as his advantage! Before care when he was stressed or nervous, he would have trouble getting his words out. Now that his nervous system is more calm, he can process and say what he wants to say! Socially he’s doing a lot better, and he’s proven to people that he’s not “naughty” or “out of control”, but actually a really kind kid. He’s able to reel things in, and really pump his breaks on his own. We’ve also been able to decrease his ADHD meds! The decrease happens in stages, and we were able to go one step down after a few months of care! We are hopeful to decrease even more this summer! This was definitely our missing puzzle piece that beautifully compliments everything else we are doing for Tyson!”
- Landon
We started Landon at CLC because he was struggling with seizures and anxiety. His body was always on the go and it seemed like he was never able to fully relax. Sleep was also a HUGE issue. He would go to sleep at 9:30 pm and by 10-10:30 pm he’d be up already having a party and it would be like that pretty much throughout the whole night.
At CLC you are focused on getting to the root cause of his issues with the functional assessments you do of the nervous system. It made so much sense when we saw how “noisy” and stressed his scans were on the first visit, and how that could be impacting Landon’s ability to be calm, sleep and heal from the seizures. You guys are so accommodating to Landon and always make him feel comfortable at his adjustments, which was something we haven’t experienced in the past with other chiros.
This is the first year we have noticed his seizures have not been as intense in September-November, which was always a time of the year where Landon would struggle with a ton of seizures for months on end. This year he only experienced them for a week or 2 here and there. It was nothing like before!
Since beginning care at CLC, Landon’s speech has improved significantly, as well as his vision. He used to be blind in his left eye, and at his last eye appointment we found out that Landon can now see BETTER out of his left eye (20/40) than he can out of his right (20/50)! Landon is a lot more calm now and his sleeping has improved SO MUCH, now that his nervous system is in a calmer state. Most of the time he sleeps til 4:30-5 am, compared to before where he would be up an hour after going to bed and then several times throughout the whole night! His seizures have improved significantly! We’ve also seen an improvement in his immune function, he hardly ever gets sick anymore!
- Julia
“I began chiropractic care at Congruent Life through a suggestion from my older sister. I had been battling a cold that turned into bronchitis for over a month, and it was clear that my immune system was suppressed. I had also been battling with extremely poor sleep quality; most nights getting only a few hours of sleep and waking up multiple times throughout the night. I was constantly exhausted and the lack of sleep lead to increased anxiety and decreased energy. I was struggling to make it through each work day without heavy caffeination, and had no energy to keep up with my usual exercise regime. I was also experiencing poor digestion and my stomach would hurt often after eating.
I always try to go the natural route, and had tried various herbal teas, meditation, essential oils, and altering my diet. However, I was still constantly waking through the night, and struggling with low energy, productivity, digestive upset, and anxiety.
After meeting with Dr. Mike, he took the time to really explain how my issues were connected to subluxation; how it affects the balance of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, digestion, sleep, and immune system response. Within just a few adjustments my sleep was improving. Now, I am sleeping through the night completely! I feel more refreshed when I wake, and have more energy throughout the day, allowing me to be more consistent with my workouts. My anxiety has also decreased, I have less stomach pain, and overall I just feel so much better! I rarely get sick now, and when I do my body is able to fight illnesses so much more quickly than before!
The whole team at Congruent Life is amazing and super friendly. They really care for all their clients, and have a passion for what they do. It’s always funny how excited Dr. Mike gets when I have a really good adjustment and how genuinely happy they all get to see improvements. I would recommend them a million times over!”

Coming to Congruent has been amazing to say the least. I started going to chiropractors a long time ago because of my scoliosis, but I had never experienced the level of care and healing you provide your patients with here. I moved to the area for college and knew I needed to find a new chiropractor, I’m so thankful I found CLC.
Before care at Congruent, it was very hard to sit still and focus in class. On top of that, all of the college books I was having to carry around was taking a toll on my body physically. I was extremely tense everywhere. The new surroundings and demands of college added a lot of emotional stress to my plate that I wasn’t handling well. My stress levels were all over the place and I was struggling with severe anxiety that was consuming my life. My sleep was horrible which led to a lot of fatigue and low energy. Additionally, I had experienced DAILY nausea, for the last 2 years; the thought of breakfast made we want to throw up.
SO MUCH has changed since beginning at CLC. My morning sickness has improved significantly; I was actually able to start eating breakfast without the nausea for the first time in YEARS! Before, my nervous system was too stressed to be able to digest food appropriately, but now I can fuel my body in the mornings to give me more energy throughout the day. The tightness between my shoulders has gone down by a lot and my body overall feels much more relaxed. One of the biggest changes I have noticed has been in my sleep and energy. Before, I would have nights where I’d be up all night long, which led to days where I wouldn’t be able to get out of bed. Now, I’m able to fall asleep at night and stay asleep rather than waking throughout the night, which has allowed me to wake up in the mornings with energy instead of feeling fatigued all day. I’m SO MUCH more energized!! That’s been extremely helpful to keep up with the demands between school and work as a college student.
Another HUGE change has been in my ability to handle stress. 6 months ago, one stressful situation would have just tipped me over the edge and I would freak out, my anxiety would go crazy and would often end in a panic attack. It was like having one drop of water in cup that would just cause all my stress to start overflowing, I couldn’t handle it well at all. The stress felt like it was crumbling me up and I couldn’t function. Now, I’m able to actually breath through my stress! Chiropractic has allowed me to utilize coping mechanisms so much better, rather than having the stress completely consume my mind and body. I can look at a problem more rationally and be able to solve it, now that my brain and nervous system aren’t always locked in fight or flight mode. Not only does my body feel so much better, but more importantly my MIND does.
When I was in high school, I actually worked at a chiro’s office and had a basic understanding of chiropractic; but when I came to CLC my eyes were completely opened to the neurological and functional aspect of how adjustments help the nervous system function better; your approach is much more wellness based which I LOVE, rather than always just focusing on pain. The doctors tell me exactly what is going on internally and how my nervous system is responding to adjustments FUNCTIONALLY, which is something I have never had with my prior chiropractic experiences. I really enjoy that aspect, it’s really encouraging to gain an understanding of what is going on with my body internally, you really involve me in the healing process which is so important, it gives me more motivation to want to lead a healthier life style in general.
This was my first chiropractic experience where I had the neurological scans done; they were so validating! I had never actually been able to SEE where the stress was at in my body and just how bad it was; you were able to explain to me what my symptoms were trying to communicate, WHY certain systems of my body weren’t functioning optimally, and how that was connected to my nervous system. It has really allowed me understand how chiropractic is helping my body heal, as well as those steps I can do along with you guys to heal myself fully; it’s been such an empowering experience. My chiropractic experience before all seemed to just revolve around pain, but you guys have gone way above and beyond that. You look at the WHOLE nervous system to restore function. I’ve been able to see so much progress on my scans along this healing journey. Knowing that not only am I feeling so much better, but also functioning so much better INTERNALLY has been so motivating for me to want to lead a healthier life style.
I am actually planning to go to chiropractic school in a few years! You guys have inspired me so much to want to incorporate so much of what you do here for your patients into my practice in the future to help people live a life where they feel and function their best! It’s so cool coming here and watching you care for so many kids and pregnant women, and really teaching people about how to be proactive in their health and healing journeys.
- CJ
We started CJ to help with his anxiety and sleep. We had been bringing his sister for a long time and saw such amazing progress with her speech apraxia, we knew we wanted to get CJ checked and give him the same opportunity to feel his best.
CJ had been struggling with both anxiety and sleep for at least a year. He had a lot more anxiety around school and he wasn’t waking up well rested like he should, even with the melatonin we were giving him. It was hard as a parent to see him struggling.
We definitely didn’t want to start medications at that young of an age, we wanted to go the more holistic root and try to find the root cause of the anxiety and sleep challenges. It was reassuring to see the neurological scans you did at CLC because we were able to really pinpoint the areas of stress on his system that could be contributing to his brain being more in a “fight or flight” mode.
Within the first 2-3 weeks of adjustments, I noticed his anxiety was already starting to improve! He didn’t come home from school as anxious as he had been before. He wasn’t breaking down as easily with little things either. We also noticed improvements with his sleep early on and he was able to stop taking melatonin in the evenings.
We’ve been bringing CJ now for over a year and he is doing fantastic! He no longer struggles with anxiety like he was before. When there is something that starts to lead to those anxious feelings, he is able to process it so much better now and doesn’t just get upset right away. He sleeps so well now. CJ loves coming each week for his adjustments!
- Quinn
The reason we brought Quinn to CLC was for chronic constipation that was leading to impaction and pain. She was only having bowel movements 1-2x/wk and we were stuck in a terrible cycle of quick fixes. On our own that wasn’t really working very well. She was also having a lot of trouble with sleep, specifically sleeping through the night. She would wake up often and early.
When Quinn first started dealing with constipation over a year ago, we brought it up to her primary care physician and were given the suggestion of a laxative. As parents, we knew this was just a “quick fix” and not really addressing the root of the problem. We didn’t feel comfortable with this option and never went through with it because we felt like we wouldn’t be satisfied with that, especially because we wanted to find a more long term solution. We had tried some essential oils that worked a little bit with the discomfort, but we didn’t notice much change in the constipation until beginning care at CLC.
The constipation was continuing to get worse and we knew we had to find a different solution. We had friends that came to CLC and you came highly recommended. On Quinn’s first visit, we went over her neurological scans. We were seeing so much stress in the areas that calm and regulate her nervous system, which were preventing her from getting into digestion and sleep mode. It was very validating as a parent to see our concerns were real and there was a reason for some of the problems Quinn was having. Having those discussions on how these issues have continued to evolve from challenges she was having earlier on as an infant really helped us connect the dots. Those same areas of neurological stress that were shifting her away from digestion and sleep mode, also influence growth and development of the brain. She had been a late crawler and talker, and we started to realize some of these things may be connected in a way that we never knew due to un-addressed stress on the nervous system from the birthing process.
It was reassuring to know there were steps we could take to address the underlying stress on the nervous system that was likely contributing to not only constipation and sleep challenges, but also delayed growth and developmental milestones.
Since we’ve gone on this journey at CLC, we’ve noticed so many changes in Quinn. After the first couple weeks of care we started to notice major improvements in the frequency and ease of bowel movements and really haven’t had any issues with constipation since! Because she was only have 1-2 bowel movements/wk, they would sometimes get impacted and be very painful. Quinn now has a bowel movement almost every day and no longer causes her the impaction and pain they used to. After several months of care, her sleep has really started to come along as well. Not only have we noticed improvements in her digestion and sleep, her mood and overall level of comfort have also improved. She is in a better pattern in life, I feel like her body isn’t always just trying to “catch up” now.
Her newest set of neurological scans looked SO GOOD. We were seeing so much less stress on her nervous system, which is so encouraging as a parent to see what we are doing with the adjustments not only is helping with the symptoms we brought her in for, but how her brain and nervous system are FUNCTIONING.
- Amanda
Before beginning care at CLC, I was struggling with anxiety, vision issues, and extreme hot flashes and night sweats that significantly interfered with my ability to sleep. My whole family was already coming here when I decided to start. I was seeing so many improvements in my twins and husband once they began care at CLC, I finally decided it was my turn.
The vision issues I was dealing with made me feel like I had been drinking all the time— which I hadn’t. Turning my head too quickly would make me dizzy. We had done all kinds of medical testing- MRIs & CTs- and found nothing. I was dealing with this for 6 months before beginning care. It made me feel “off” all the time.
I didn’t know where to turn. I couldn’t see straight, glasses weren’t working, the eye doctor and medical doctors couldn’t find anything wrong, but I knew SOMETHING was going on. It was super frustrating not knowing what was wrong with me. I had also been on antidepressants before to help manage my anxiety and depression and didn’t want to have to go down that road again because of the side effects, they were affecting the relationship I had with my husband. I just didn’t want to go through my life medicated anymore. (We were at the point with our kids that medication was going to be our next step to help control their anxiety and behaviors, and when we were able to get to the root of their stress at CLC and ultimately did NOT have to resort to meds, I knew I wanted the same for myself).
You approach health and healing so differently at CLC. You look at what is going on internally to find the root cause of stress and dysfunction in the brain and body, rather than a “band-aid” approach I have experienced in the past. The neurological scans you do at CLC on the 1st visit to assess internal stress were very validating. You finally were able to pinpoint areas of stress that could be contributing to all the symptoms I had been struggling with for so long with no answers.
It didn’t take long to start feeling the benefits of chiro care. The vision and dizziness issues I was dealing with before have all improved since beginning care. I don’t have the brain fog like I used to. My hot flashes at night have improved significantly, which is allowing me to sleep so much better at night. I go to sleep faster and stay asleep; I don’t wake up in the middle of the night having to change my clothes because of night sweats anymore.
My temperament has also improved, I don’t snap like I used to. I’m managing my anxiety a lot better now, I don’t feel like it weighs on my shoulders like it used to. I’m able to process things that stress me out better, I can step away and take a breather and calm down rather than just flying off the handle. I’m not always on edge anymore, life is just easier now!
Coming to CLC has changed my perspective on life and health. I’m able to recognize stressors so much easier now and have been able to implement more effective coping mechanisms to manage my stress better.
When my kids are sick or showing signs of stress, my 1st inclination is to bring them in to get adjusted to allow their nervous system to ADAPT to this new stress more efficiently, and most of the time we are able to avoid trips to the pediatrician and medications because of it! Our whole family is processing and handling life stress so much better now that CLC is a part of our wellness journey.

“We were drawn to Dr.Mike’s office in the hopes that he could help our oldest son with some anxiety and sleep issues. While he didn’t have what I would call “severe” anxiety, it did interfere with his ability to relax. He was chewing his nails down, I hadn’t trimmed his nails in almost a year. He was having some behavioral outbursts if things went off schedule even a little bit. We also were having trouble with him sleeping independently. He once had, but one illness threw all of that out the window and he was at a point in his development that he just needed to sleep with us.
After seeing Dr. Mike for a couple of months, his anxiety has drastically reduced. I have trimmed his nails twice! And even more amazing to me, is that he can just relax, if something goes differently than he expects, he handles it so well. He also has been able to sleep independently (on our floor) which I attribute to the ability to relax. I learned a lot about how subluxation can cause the body to stay stuck in fight or flight, and he was. Now he is not – and while he’s always been a very happy boy, he just seems so much more at ease. Since our oldest was going, we also decided to have our youngest seen (what could it hurt?!). We have noticed that he has been sleeping better too – if he wakes up in the night he is much easier to put down. He also has been sick one time since starting with Dr. Mike, and I truly think that it was much less severe than other colds he has had in the past – shorter, symptoms not as intense. Also, if he ever got a runny nose before he would automatically get an ear infection. That cold he had a runny nose but he did not get an ear infection! Both boys are definitely benefitting. Our issues were not intense to some standards, but it was affecting our daily lives. Improving their overall health has been my main goal and I honestly believe that with Dr. Mike’s help the boys are on the right track.
Since I was taking the boys to Dr. Mike, after a couple of weeks I decided to be seen for some ongoing back pain that I had experienced since being pregnant with my youngest. I also hoped that I could improve my health and lessen my anxiety. What surprised me the most is the improvement in other areas that I didn’t even really realize were a problem, because I just had dealt with them for so long! I have always had sinus issues and after a couple of adjustments I was breathing clearer than I have since I can remember. After a couple of months I have noticed my anxiety has lessened, but more importantly I feel like I have more patience. I don’t “pop my top” as quickly as I was. I was also stuck in fight or flight, and now I’m starting to feel the difference of coming out of that. My back pain has reduced dramatically. If I would do a hard workout before, I would have to take a few days off of exercising to let the back pain subside. I can do whatever workouts I want now without having that back pain immediately follow. And my favorite part is that my sleeping has improved. I didn’t realize how poorly I was sleeping – after all I have two young children! But I fall asleep so much easier now, fall into a deeper sleep, and if I wake up in the night I can fall right back to sleep instead of being up for an hour thinking of all the stuff I have to do. It is a blessing. Thanks Dr. Mike!
I wanted to share our story because I truly think that Dr. Mike can help such a wide range of people. Whatever end of the spectrum you are on, I would highly suggest giving Dr. Mike the opportunity to help you. We are a happier, healthier, more relaxed family thanks to Dr. Mike. We love going to the office, Dr. Mike is kind and empathetic, but the environment as a whole there is so family friendly! Mady, Victoria and Jen are so caring, it never feels like going to another appointment when we go. We love it. THANKS CONGRUENT LIFE!”
- Vivi
“Before starting care here, Vivi would have some crazy fits that I wouldn’t be able to bring her out of very easily. It was one of those things where I thought, “Is she a 3 year old having fits or is this abnormal?” Then, she started getting up in the middle of the night, again, I asked myself the same thing. After about 2 months of both of those things happening together, I began to think it wasn’t normal, my mom instinct said I should explore chiropractic care.
It was super frustrating because it felt like there was nothing I could do to help her. I know she has big emotions and there were no strategies I had to help her calm down. I felt lost. My youngest started sleeping through the night but then Vivi started getting up. I thought we were past that. I was exhausted and I know she was exhausted.
I’ve been to a lot of chiropractors before and I’ve never seen the scans that you do done before, plus going over them in depth. You guys did such an awesome job explaining everything, from what could be happening and what we could be seeing as a result of interference. She had so much energy before and that was on those scans too. It’s super kid friendly here which is nice, the doctors and staff are so good with kids. It’s helpful knowing my youngest can be in the waiting room and play while I’m tending to Vivi.
It wasn’t an immediate thing, but after a couple weeks, maybe once a week she’d sleep through the night. This was a big deal! She had been waking up 1-3 times every night. When she started sleeping through the night again I was like, “Maybe this is working!” Then a couple weeks later she’d sleep through the night a couple times a week! She’s now to the point where she pretty much always sleeps through the night! When she does have a fit she can easily come out of it.
I was so encouraged to start chiropractic care for Vivi because I was doing something to have a positive outcome, instead of just turning my wheels and wondering, “Why is she not sleeping through the night, why is she having these issues?” Coming to the chiropractor and having Dr. Mike and Dr. Nikki explain what might be going on in her body and then having an action to help, gave me so much more hope than just reading a book and hoping that it would just fix on its own. I felt like I was being an active participant in her health, that was what was most encouraging to me throughout the process. Irregardless if it worked immediately, or took awhile, at least I knew I was doing something for her.
I’m hopeful we can keep on top of the health, being proactive instead of reactive. My husband and I are proactive when it comes to our health, but it took this happening for us to realize we need to be doing that for our kids too, for their future, so they can be healthy in the mind and the body. I’m grateful knowing the difference between, ‘is my kid doing this because they can’t control their body and emotions’, or ‘is my kid doing this because it’s a stage they’re in.’ There’s a vast difference. Now I have a better idea of what’s normal and I’m glad I listened to my intuition.”
