- Cal

“Before CLC, Cal was constantly getting sick. We had him in day care and it was one thing after another; it seemed like he was home sick with us every 2 weeks. Constant colds and ear infections, he would get over one and a week later he’d get another; he was miserable and I was miserable seeing him miserable.

I personally follow a more natural health approach so when we were on Cal’s 4th round of antibiotics, I was like “What am I doing? How did I get here?” That’s when I decided I needed to make a change for him and seek out other options.

Cal was always sick and it was starting to have a huge effect on our lifestyle. We were having to keep him home from daycare all the time, while still trying to work from home. It was getting to a point where it was becoming unmanageable. We ultimately ended up pulling him out of day care to try and keep him healthy, and we even had to cancel a family trip to Arizona because he kept getting ear infections.

Antibiotics were just a band-aid for Cal’s underlying health issues. If we wouldn’t have found CLC, we probably would have continued down that cycle of constant sickness and antibiotic use followed by a week of diarrhea and diaper rash, and then repeated a few weeks later. I came here wanting more of a root cause fix, and that’s what we got.

We started Cal at CLC in March (the week we had to cancel our trip to Arizona) when he was 11 months old and we haven’t looked back! It’s been about 5 months since we started getting Cal adjusted, and he hasn’t had a cold or ear infection since!! He has since started at an in-home daycare and we haven’t had to pull him out once. Our daycare provider just told us there was strep throat going around, but Cal didn’t get it! He’s a completely new, healthy and happy boy!

Now that we have a happy baby, there’s no more stress over him constantly being sick, we aren’t having to juggle working from home while simultaneously tending to a sick baby, we haven’t had to miss out on any activities; we’ve just had a great spring and summer with him, it’s completely changed our lives.”

“I started coming here because of generalized pain, fatigue, and anxiety/stress! I was actually at a previous chiropractor before moving to the area, I went religiously like I do here, but I never saw the progress like I have experienced at CLC. They didn’t do the scans that you guys do… it didn’t seem like they were able to pinpoint the areas of stress on my nervous system like you guys were able to… your approach was just so much different and I think it’s what my body needed to heal.

When I did the initial scans here, even though I had been going to another chiro for awhile, they were still showing areas of significant stress in my nervous system! Once I started at CLC, I noticed that I progressed a lot faster than I had experienced in the past.

I started getting adjusted 3x/week and by about week 4 I wasn’t feeling nearly as uncomfortable throughout the day and I started to see a lot of improvements in my ability to fall asleep at night as well. I go to bed at the same time that I always have, but now when I wake up… I feel refreshed and energized, rather than exhausted. When I get home from work, I don’t feel like I just need to take a nap right away like I used to; I’m getting much more restful sleep which has restored my energy levels!

I also used to be on medications for mood support before coming here, but I haven’t had to take any since I started care and it’s just something I don’t even think about any more!
I’m a dental assistant so I do a lot of leaning over at work, getting weekly adjustments have really helped me overall be in less pain, I’m sleeping much better and have more energy, and I’m all around just happier!”

“Before care at Congruent, I was in chronic pain and discomfort; it seemed like I was sick all the time. I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 13 yrs old; that’s when my chiropractic journey began, but I continued to deal with chronic back pain and continual health issues for years until I found healing at CLC.

Additionally, the doctors told me at a young age I wouldn’t be able to have children naturally because of the way my ribcage was shifted (spoiler alert: they were wrong!!). I began care at CLC when I was pregnant with my first, and while being under weekly care I was actually able to have 2 natural births, and my 2nd was even at home! It’s crazy to see the results when you allow your body to do exactly what it was designed to do, despite external limitations doctors place on you, it’s opened our eyes so much.

With prenatal chiropractic care, both of my pregnancies were a breeze, which is something I honestly wasn’t expecting, especially because of my scoliosis. I was under the impression that pregnancy was not going to be comfortable, it was going to be very hard, but both of my pregnancies were enjoyable. I had no complications and there was hardly any pain.
In my 15+ years of prior chiropractic care, I NEVER experienced the pain relief and overall health that I’ve experienced since starting at CLC. My prior experience was more like a “band-aid” approach. Every time I went back to get adjusted, it was always the same symptoms over and over again, it was never really getting to the root of the issue.

Every visit here is different. If there is something new that comes up whether it’s allergies, constipation for the kids, going through a big transition in life… the doctors discuss it with us and we are adjusted accordingly. We are also scanned frequently to see how our bodies are functioning internally, which was something we had never experienced before at our previous chiros. It seemed like we were always having the same problems every week because they were never truly getting resolved. When we come here, we come with a problem and leave with a solution. There’s times when we bring the kids in and they are sick, and with chiro care, they are able to breeze through that illness without us having to use other interventions like medicine and additional doctor visits.

It’s been an empowering experience to be able to have an advocate on our side. Before coming here, we didn’t have that. We were just trying to “mask” our symptoms. If we had a headache, we would take ibuprofen… coming here has completely changed the way we view our health, we have the tools now to allow our body’s to heal and function at their very best. It’s allowed us to be advocates for our children and choose a different route of “standard care”. When sicknesses happen, they last a very short period of time. Sicknesses no longer take our household out for 2 weeks, it’s more of a 48 hr window and then we’re back up and running without needing other interventions like the standard meds and antibiotics we were always relying on before.

At CLC, you find the source of the problem rather than masking it. My whole life was essentially masking symptoms. Taking ibuprofen, doing whatever I could do to suppress the pain. Now, we address the source from the inside and use holistic ways to support our bodies run the course of what they need to go through to actually heal.

If we hadn’t started at Congruent before having kids, their lives would have been so much different. Changing our mindset around health is going to allow our kids to have better lives and change how they are going to view health and healing.

We lived 20+ years in the paradigm of taking medications to mask symptoms and nothing ever worked to make us ACTUALLY feel better or restore health. Here we are a couple years into care at CLC and we’re viewing our health through a completely different lens than we did before. Our lives are completely changed, and now we get to pass that down to our children as they grow.”

“I came to Congruent Life because of my terrible back/hip pain and all the migraines and headaches I was getting each month. I had tried other chiropractors and doctors who prescribed me medicine to try to help with the pain, but it never seemed to work or last. It was very frustrating.

CLC looked at the cause of my problems and wanted to make me better as a whole person and not just put a bandaid on my problems. I really started to realize that my care at CLC was making a difference when I was at Walmart with my 13 year old daughter… We were in a hurry so her ice cream didn’t melt in the car. I was being an embarrassing mom and running through Walmart and having a blast. The reason this really hit me was because before CLC there is NO way I could have run through the store… I would have been in too much pain.

I feel great now! My headaches and migraines have improved so much, I am more active with my kids, I’m sleeping through the night, and I’m not as tired. I am also now off my antidepressant medication!”

“Before starting care at CLC I was suffering with back/leg pain, headaches, depression, anxiety, poor sleep and STRESS. I was either sleeping all the time, or not sleeping at all. I was taking 4-5 medications daily for my depression, anxiety and ADD. I had even been hospitalized twice for depression. I felt like a total mess! I felt like I had hit rock bottom. I had a hard time enjoying my grandkids. I couldn’t get on the floor to play, and I couldn’t go to the park with them or go for walks. I was not enjoying my life.

The moment I realized that my care at Congruent Life was making a difference was in my first week of care when I went in with a headache (didn’t tell Dr. Mike) and when I left it was gone! Since starting care at CLC I can now enjoy playing with my grandkids and taking walks! I’m in so much less pain and it’s even motivated me to watch what I eat! I actually get out of bed before my alarm goes off, rather then sleeping all the time like before. For the first time in my LIFE I’m not on any medications! I finally enjoyed the holiday season for the first time in 10 years! I’m enjoying life and my grandkids!”

“Before I started at CLC, the accumulation of stress on my body was out of control. I was in constant, debilitating pain; everything hurt from head to toe, I felt broken. At that point, I had been in pain for so long I thought this was my “forever” reality. It was affecting my relationship with my husband, my family… even my job. The pain was preventing me from being the grandma I always wanted to be.

I was in a car accident when I was 18 and I messed up my neck and lower back. Over time, the stress on my system kept building. I worked in skilled rehab as a therapist; I was lifting and transferring patients when we were doing treatment sessions until one day my back “went out” and I just fell to the ground, my coworker had to take me to the ER. Since then, every 2 years my back would just “go out” again and I would be in horrendous spasms and pain. The last time it happened to me I was just carrying my laptop and all of the sudden my back just snapped with no warning at all. It was so bad I couldn’t walk and I had to crawl up my basement steps. The pain continued to get worse and worse over the years. It would keep me up at night and got so bad to a point that every time I tried to turn in bed, I would just howl out in pain.

I couldn’t enjoy the time I had with my family because I was in so much pain. Last year, I tried taking my grandkids to the zoo, I wanted to enjoy this precious time with them but I couldn’t, I just felt miserable the whole day. I wanted to be the grandma that could be really involved with my grandkids, read them stories, take them on adventures… I couldn’t even hold my grandchildren or read to them, I couldn’t get on the ground to play with them because I knew I wouldn’t be able to get back up. I was being robbed of making these memories.

In the workspace, sitting in long meetings was getting to a point it was almost unbearable… at the rate I was going, I wasn’t going to be able to keep up with my workload much longer. My career was in jeopardy.

I was tired of feeling this way. Nothing was getting better. The debilitation it caused was embarrassing. I’m not that old. I shouldn’t feel THIS bad, but I thought this was going to be the way I was going to have to live forever.

I had been following you guys for a while and continued to see the amazing patient testimonials; even though I had tried physical therapy for a year and chiropractic care many times over without seeing results, I knew what you had to offer here was just so much different. I knew I had to come CLC to get better.

When I saw how stressed my nervous system was (and my husband’s) on the neurological scans on our first visit, my husband and I both felt so validated. Like “OMG, we aren’t crazy, this is really, really bad.”

So many people accept this as their reality all the time, I mean, I did for years and years. And now that I see what life can be like on the other side, I try to tell as many people as possible they NEED to do this. They CAN feel better.

I was amazed at how quickly I started feeling better after starting. When I go home at night after my adjustments, I always joke that you did your voodoo on me because I’m just so shocked at how instantaneously I feel so much better.

The first few weeks of care were life changing. I finally had HOPE. I kept waiting for things to turn back and get worse. I truly thought how good I was feeling was too good to be true, but it’s been a year now and I still feel amazing. I can’t even remember the last time I was in pain.

I have so much more hope for growing older now. I know that whatever comes up in the future internally, neurologically, that you will help me be the healthiest I can be. I always thought I had “bad luck”, this was just how I was going to feel forever, but I know now that simply isn’t true..

The quality of life for my husband and I has changed drastically. Things as simple as having a family get together are so much more enjoyable, between the cooking and cleaning, and standing… before we would be in pain for days after that, we couldn’t enjoy the family time we were getting, my husband and I would get irritable, I would have to sit down and not be able to interact with my family like I wanted to…but that has all changed now. My family is my WHY. I can finally be that grandma I’ve always wanted to be. I can read my grandchildren stories, I can hold them and play with them, I can take them on trips and truly ENJOY my time.

It’s truly a miracle and I feel so blessed I can enjoy life now, I can be present with my family and involved with my grandkids… I have to thank CLC for everything, for my LIFE, for my MARRIAGE, for my FAMILY, for my WORK… it wouldn’t be possible without the care we’ve both received here.

Now that my husband and I have experienced the healing we have here, we’re never going back to how we used to live, we are committed to making this a part of our forever wellness journey. Chiropractic has CHANGED my life and I refuse to go back to my old reality. Once you experience this, why would you ever want to go back.”

“I started chiropractic care in June 2016 because I had chronic migraines and hoped it would help lessen them. My migraines started at age 15 and worsened as I got older, with no real reason that a doctor could give me. At its peak, I was seeing a doctor at least 1x/month to get a shot of tylenol/benadryl to help a migraine go away, because it wouldn’t on its own. This was in addition to taking a daily preventative medication and another prescription for when I got a “breakthrough” migraine. I spent a lot of time in bed, in silence, with the lights off. It affected my life by making me miss school/classes, many activities with friends, and work shifts. When I did get out of bed, I was miserable and very irritable. After a few months of chiropractic care, I stopped getting migraines, and now it’s rare that I even get a headache. I never imagined it would improve this much!

Originally I just sought care for migraines, but I then realized there was SO MUCH MORE that CLC could and did help me with. Shortly before I started care, I had also seen a general practitioner for my anxiety, OCD, and nervous ticks. The doctor asked me what I knew about anti-depressants and suggested that it was the best option for me. I proceeded to take anti-depressants for a few months, which made me irritable, dull, everything was hazy, and I seemed to be indifferent or unhappy about everything. I was not in a good place. After 1 month of care, I slowly took myself off the medication and noticed significant improvement.

I also took a daily medication for UTI’s, which I got at least 1x/month. I didn’t think anything of this, since I had been getting them since I was a baby. The doctor simply blamed it on genetics. As the first month of care went by, I realized that I hadn’t gotten a UTI. I haven’t had one since, and I definitely don’t take a prescription for it anymore! I’m excited to say that I’m now off ALL medications.

It’s hard to even remember what my life was like before chiropractic care! Telling my story has made me realize that I can’t even imagine going back to how I was. I asked my fiance how he thinks chiropractic has helped me. He explained that I’m much more outgoing, energetic, and active. He described a time when I was constantly stressed out, had no hope of getting better, and was always pessimistic. I was unable to live life how we wanted to. Now, our relationship has improved because I am able to be the best version of myself!

I can’t thank Dr. Mike and Congruent Life enough! They provide hope and promote overall wellbeing for all of their patients. Dr. Mike not only encourages you to receive regular adjustments, but he encourages you to educate yourself. There’s so many things that chiropractic has done for me that I didn’t even know were possible. Through being a patient at Congruent Life, my ENTIRE life has been CHANGED for the better!”

“I started coming to Congruent before I got pregnant with my oldest daughter. We were doing IVF and I wanted to make sure my body was in the best possible state before the transfer. After the transfer was a success, I knew I wanted to continue with chiropractic care to help with common pregnancy ailments and to ensure I was giving our child the best possible environment to grow and develop in.

I was adjusted all throughout my pregnancy which was so incredibly helpful. I carried the pregnancy so well, I wasn’t uncomfortable, I was able to exercise my entire pregnancy, and I didn’t experience the common pregnancy ailments many other mothers experience. My hips and pubic bone were comfortable all throughout my pregnancy and I didn’t have the common round ligament pain.

Chiropractic care helped prepare my body for an optimal labor and delivery and I’m so thankful! I went into labor on my own and was able to experience an easy delivery without complications. In addition, coming here frequently definitely helped my mind and body cope with all the postpartum changes as best as possible.

After learning about the complexities of the nervous system and how it governs growth + development and regulates all the systems of the body, getting our babies adjusted was a no brainer for us. Brinley was adjusted 2 days after she was born and has been adjusted every week since. She hardly ever gets sick, and if she does this is always our first stop. Adjustments help restore balance to the nervous system so her body can HEAL more quickly, and sure enough, she is usually better within a couple of days.

Landon was also adjusted within 2 days of his birth and my husband comes as well. Getting our whole family adjusted is so important to us to keep everyone in check. We call it the “poop button” and the “nap button” every week; everyone in the family sleeps so well after getting adjusted. Oftentimes it’s also our “attitude adjustment”, we all leave the chiro feeling happier!”

“I originally came to Congruent Life because I thought they might be able to help me with my anxiety, which would allow me to decrease my medication. My anxiety held me back from doing a lot of fun things with my daughter. We wouldn’t go out into the heat because I might have a panic attack and pass out. I wouldn’t do anything that involved heights, because my anxiety was just too high. I missed out on a lot of experiences with my daughter. My anxiety also caused a lot of stress in the workplace. If I wasn’t performing perfectly, I was terrified someone might be mad at me. I felt like I was trying so hard, and my only option was medication. I didn’t want to rely on medications, especially since I was still struggling. My anxiety caused me to suffer in many areas of my life, rather than explore life.

Since starting care at Congruent Life my anxiety levels have definitely decreased and I am so much more care free now. They were so different because they put an actual plan in place and tracked my progress along the way with the neurological scans. It really helped me put my full trust in them. I’ve been able to decrease my anxiety medication for the first time in YEARS, and I have hope that I can continue to decrease!

My daughter and I are connecting so much more now. I’m able to give her attention rather than just getting through the day. I’m able to actually BE with her, and not just in the same room! I’m just so hopeful looking into the future!”
