“I started coming here when I was 17 weeks pregnant because my ears were blocked with fluid and I was experiencing hearing loss because of it. They tried antibiotics to help clear the fluid, but they weren’t working. They told me the next course of action was to have tubes put in. I was really panicked. I work in surgery, I know the risks that come with being pregnant and under-going surgery and anesthesia. I was really worried about how that could affect my baby and myself. I didn’t want to experience permanent hearing loss either. I was scared.

I wanted to find some relief that didn’t involve surgery. When I came to CLC I felt like my problems and concerns were really listened to. I loved your approach. You did scans of my nervous system to see how I was functioning internally. I like the way you could find the pinpointed spots of the most stress on my system and just correct the areas that were NEEDED rather than a “crack, crack, crack” approach.

I always felt like everyone knew me, you guys made me feel so welcomed and comfortable right away. I started feeling better within the first few weeks of coming here! I came back one day and my hearing was completely restored. I was on the verge of tears, it was so amazing. All the fluid was gone and I didn’t have to put myself and my baby through the risks of a surgery.

I also always heard people talking about how labor was really hard and painful. I was getting adjustments during pregnancy and the stress in my ligaments and spine were being addressed, I feel like it made labor and delivery a lot easier for me. I feel like my body was just ready to give birth. Now with this pregnancy, I’ve been getting adjusted since the very beginning instead of waiting the 17 weeks. I feel all around better. My back doesn’t hurt nearly as much. I am carrying myself better. And I have NO FLUID in my ears this time around.

Chiropractic care has helped us avoid frequent doctor visits for illnesses. If I’m ever feeling run down or under the weather, I always come to the chiropractor first. I’m much more empowered and proactive in my health now.

I’ve also always had chronic lower back pain which is rarely an issue for me anymore. I know if I was struggling with back pain like I was before coming to CLC, I wouldn’t be able to be active with my daughter like I am now. It’s also helped with my daughter’s ear infections. My husband had a history of ear infections and tubes, but we were able to prevent that from happening with my daughter. My husband also comes and has experienced a lot of relief.

Chiropractic has just made life easier for all of us, we look forward to our adjustments every week! We can be active as a family together, we are healthier and happier because of it!”

“Before starting care at Congruent, I was having pains in my lower back and hips and I was tight through my shoulders. Now I’m a lot more tuned in to my body. I had immune challenges before. It’s helped with my anxiety, especially over the last year. It helps physically and mentally.

I knew I couldn’t feel any worse than how I felt; I learned about chiropractic and wanted to try it to see if it would help.

Seeing the scans… that was a huge wake up call to what’s going on inside the body. It was so eye opening. I’m so glad you were able to educate me on it so I could understand what was going on in my body. You can sometimes take your body for granted. I feel like now my body is working the way it’s supposed to. I feel stronger and I feel more in control of my body.

I’m able to focus better on my physical health and mental health. I feel better, I sleep better, I’m not in pain and waking up at night. I’m glad I found something that’s preventative and proactive. I know you guys really care about me and my life. This is the best thing I’ve done for my health in years.”

“Before starting care here, Vivi would have some crazy fits that I wouldn’t be able to bring her out of very easily. It was one of those things where I thought, “Is she a 3 year old having fits or is this abnormal?” Then, she started getting up in the middle of the night, again, I asked myself the same thing. After about 2 months of both of those things happening together, I began to think it wasn’t normal, my mom instinct said I should explore chiropractic care.

It was super frustrating because it felt like there was nothing I could do to help her. I know she has big emotions and there were no strategies I had to help her calm down. I felt lost. My youngest started sleeping through the night but then Vivi started getting up. I thought we were past that. I was exhausted and I know she was exhausted.

I’ve been to a lot of chiropractors before and I’ve never seen the scans that you do done before, plus going over them in depth. You guys did such an awesome job explaining everything, from what could be happening and what we could be seeing as a result of interference. She had so much energy before and that was on those scans too. It’s super kid friendly here which is nice, the doctors and staff are so good with kids. It’s helpful knowing my youngest can be in the waiting room and play while I’m tending to Vivi.

It wasn’t an immediate thing, but after a couple weeks, maybe once a week she’d sleep through the night. This was a big deal! She had been waking up 1-3 times every night. When she started sleeping through the night again I was like, “Maybe this is working!” Then a couple weeks later she’d sleep through the night a couple times a week! She’s now to the point where she pretty much always sleeps through the night! When she does have a fit she can easily come out of it.

I was so encouraged to start chiropractic care for Vivi because I was doing something to have a positive outcome, instead of just turning my wheels and wondering, “Why is she not sleeping through the night, why is she having these issues?” Coming to the chiropractor and having Dr. Mike and Dr. Nikki explain what might be going on in her body and then having an action to help, gave me so much more hope than just reading a book and hoping that it would just fix on its own. I felt like I was being an active participant in her health, that was what was most encouraging to me throughout the process. Irregardless if it worked immediately, or took awhile, at least I knew I was doing something for her.

I’m hopeful we can keep on top of the health, being proactive instead of reactive. My husband and I are proactive when it comes to our health, but it took this happening for us to realize we need to be doing that for our kids too, for their future, so they can be healthy in the mind and the body. I’m grateful knowing the difference between, ‘is my kid doing this because they can’t control their body and emotions’, or ‘is my kid doing this because it’s a stage they’re in.’ There’s a vast difference. Now I have a better idea of what’s normal and I’m glad I listened to my intuition.”

- Stella and Ashton Mom

“Before starting, the problems Ashton dealt with were dramatic and emotional behaviors, if you looked at her wrong she’d start crying and for Stella she had a very combative attitude, she would get in trouble and she’d throw herself into her room kicking doors and screaming. We knew we had to try something for them.

They had been struggling with those attitudes and behaviors for close to a year, if not longer. We didn’t know what to do. As a mom you want your kids to do well. We had tried everything. We were at our wits end. We had talked to friends that had come to CLC and they suggested coming here.

We hadn’t tried anything medical but I knew if we didn’t do something our kids would end up on medication and we didn’t want to go that route. When they got scanned and we saw how much stress was in some areas, it was eye opening. We didn’t know if we’d have them start but after seeing those scans we knew we had to. It was almost a night and day difference after those first couple adjustments, we saw such a big change in Stella.

Before we started, my husband and I would be at each other’s throats, we would disagree on how to parent them, we didn’t know what to do. We now look at it differently. We take a step back and think, “Maybe there’s something going on, maybe they hurt somewhere and they can’t tell us or maybe there’s stress somewhere in their body.” We notice when we’ve gone more than normal between their adjustments, they start to act up. They go to bed so much easier now, it used to be hours for bed time to calm themselves down. It’s not the fight it used to be. They still have their moments but they are totally different children now.

As they go through life, I hope they know now what they can feel like when they’re getting adjusted regularly versus not. They can adjust and adapt to life in a better way.

I hope as they get back into school, and as new stressors may come their way, we can identify those and bring them in here to help them and not ever go a medicated way. I don’t want to hide their problem, or mask their problems and 10 years down the road they end up breaking because we medicated instead of addressing the root cause.

With all the uncertainty in the world right now, we are of the mind that this is the way we want to deal with what’s coming at us: this seems like what we’re supposed to be doing, this holistic approach. I hope the girls are learning that too, we don’t need to go a medicated route in life.

I’m so glad we came.”

- Abigail

“I’ve had lots of asthma issues ever since I was 12 years old. Throughout my 20s I got in a pattern of getting infections every 3 months when my allergies would kick up. I had some autoimmune problems that were undefined and flared in my mid 20s. So I was just in a bad cycle of constant need for antibiotics and prednisone. I had really low energy, and couldn’t really ever get fully healthy.

I felt like I wasn’t really listened to when I would tell my doctor, “this keeps happening.” They would say, “okay, I’m sorry, but this medicine will help you.” It was just putting a bandaid over it with medicine. I always felt like there had to be something more that we could do because obviously it was a consistent problem. I didn’t feel like I could ever get someone to really look into what was going on; it was just well the pulmonologist knows the lungs, when I had skin problems, the dermatologist knows the skin – it wasn’t a full look at health, it was just pieces.

When I was pregnant, my asthma would flare and I would have to go to the ER for breathing treatments. That kind of happened periodically. Even though I was on tons of asthma medications, I was still dealing with it! That’s when I started realizing it was maybe more hormone related. Clearly just treating the asthma isn’t doing anything.

I think the biggest difference about coming here versus the medical places I’ve been to was that you guys actually took the time to listen to everything that I had going wrong with me. It was, “from this scan and from the symptoms you’re having, this is what correlates.” It was a bigger picture I was looking for to give me hope that treating these systems could actually solve some of my problems. It was different that the time was taken and the technology that could take a look at my full system, my body as a whole, and that there was a true correlation to my symptoms and stressed areas in my body.

I instantly got way more energy after starting here! I was dancing around with my daughter. I was able to do more housework without getting really tired, I wasn’t totally burned at the end of the day. I was having some asthma symptoms but my body was able to fight it better. This spring has been hard, but overall I have bounced back better. Those things are what I’ve noticed right off the bat.

Being here has given me a lot of hope that overtime I can really be healthy. I had tried to workout more, to take supplements, I was trying to do everything right but then my body would just crash and I’d end up having to start over again. That was really getting exhausting. Now I’m able to make these steps to be healthy and to actually have more energy to do it. My body is getting taken care of regularly. I have hope that we’re already breaking patterns and we’re going to continue to. Before I would just think, “I’m going to deal with this for the rest of my life, I guess this is just my normal.” But now, I think, “this could actually get better!”

If anybody has any issues and they haven’t found answers, to try chiropractic because it is a great first step to help get your body right so you can move forward. I’m bringing my daughter now even though nothing is “wrong”. I don’t want her to end up like I did where her body is just out of whack and she ends up with chronic health issues.”

“Before starting care at CLC, I was having lower back immobility, tight muscles, insomnia, anxiety and chronic allergies. Something else that was pretty prominent was I used to get colds basically every month.

I thought, “This was 30”, this is how I was supposed to feel. I had kind of accepted it. You don’t really realize things are a problem until you fix them. You see how life can be without having those issues, then you don’t want to go back.

I used to take melatonin to help me sleep and I used to take a plethora of allergy medication – zyrtec, benadryl, claritin – all the over the counter stuff. I’ve had allergies since I was 12 and had prescription strength allergy meds because they were so bad. I haven’t even had allergies this year or had to take any medication this spring. Since I’ve started I haven’t had one cold that I can remember.

At the end of the first month, before my second scans, I could already tell I was falling asleep faster, could relax and let go faster. I was able to get back in the gym more, I was recovering a lot faster and wasn’t sore for 3 days. Relatively quickly I noticed what you were doing here was helping.

This is my first chiropractic experience. I was under the impression that chiropractic was more for rehab and physical therapy – more for injuries. I never associated it with preventative care or maintenance.”

- Henry’s Dad

“When we started Henry, we were primarily concerned with his ears. He had already had two tubes surgeries, for ear infections. We had heard chiropractic could help and we’ve seen some other testimonials. His ear infections were frequent enough and bad enough to the point that he had a speech delay.

He was probably 6 months old when we caught his first ear infection. We kind of lost faith in modern medicine because every time we’d go in there, they’d say, “just a couple more ear infections and we’ll refer you to get surgery.” It just seemed like they were never actually really going away. Maybe the infection was clearing up but the fluid just wasn’t draining and it was just a matter of a week or two before he had another ear infection then we were back in the doctor another week later.

Every month we were going in for an ear infection and that continued for about 6 months and then he had his first surgery and he was okay for about 6 months, that seemed to help. But then the tubes fell out because he grew and then we were right back to the same cycle. Their solution again was, “he just needs another surgery.” It just seemed like the wrong thing. It was eye opening to me because with those surgeries, I looked at the paperwork, most people don’t, one of the forms you sign for anesthesia, “you understand there’s a risk for death and you can’t hold us liable.” Wait a second – I’m signing so that he can get tubes put in his ears, this just seems bizarre, invasive, unnatural thing.

We were committed to find a solution for him after that point.

When we came here, Dr. Mike willingly shared his story and it was really similar to Henry’s. What was different here, is that your approach is about the whole person and about healthy lifestyle in general and not necessarily about treating the symptom. Because even though the doctor made it seem like they were treating the cause by putting tubes in, it still seemed like a symptom because as soon as that tube was gone we were right back to where we were.

After starting at CLC, we started to notice his posture improving and he seemed to be stronger. The way he carried himself was different. He started to have more confidence. Time went by and we noticed, “Hey! He hasn’t had an ear infection!” I didn’t expect chiropractic care would fix that but I thought it could maybe help. We kept going month after month and here we are, he hasn’t had an ear infection in years! We have even noticed improvements in his speech! Overall his health is better. Kids get colds, it’s a part of life, but when he gets them, he gets over them quicker. After we started our 2 kids at CLC, we went the whole first year without either of them getting sick, and before, it was every other month we were having to stay home from work to take care of a sick kid.”

- Kaylee Z’s mom

“Kaylee was diagnosed with Epilepsy in 2019. She had been having anywhere from 10-20 absence seizures in an hour. It took a while to come across the diagnosis because of the nature of the seizure. It was likely she had been unknowingly having these seizures for years before receiving the diagnosis.

It was so hard for Kaylee. She couldn’t focus in school, she’d be in the middle of a sentence and would have one, when she’d come out she couldn’t remember what she was doing. She was getting “special treatment” from her teachers and peers, and she hated that. She just wanted to be “normal”. Having these seizures meant she’d never be able to participate in sports that she wanted to like cheerleading or basketball, or be able to drive. She was at the point of giving up because she didn’t want to take medications anymore.

It was so frustrating as a parent just cycling through medications and nothing was working. She was taking so many pills. The first med she was on, she was taking 8 different pills/day. But the seizures continued.

When we found you guys at CLC, Kaylee had been on 2 different seizure meds at the maximum dosages, and she was still having seizures. That’s when we added the third. The next step to managing her seizures was going to be an implantation of a vagal nerve stimulator. That’s where I drew the line. I didn’t want to go in that direction, I knew I had to seek out an alternative approach that would allow Kaylee to have a chance at a more “normal” life.

After getting off the initial phone call, I felt a lot of hope. We were at our last resort. It was hard not to be skeptical when doctors are in your ear saying “med, med, med”, but we were desperate and willing to try anything. The scans you guys did to pinpoint the neurological stress on her system… that gave me hope too. Hope that this was maybe what we’ve been missing all along.

Since beginning care at CLC in December, we have had TWO normal EEGs. These were the first normal EEGs we have had in over TWO years! NO SEIZURE ACTIVITY WHATSOEVER!! She has now been weaned off 1 of her medications and it is our hope we can eventually wean her off meds all together.

We finally have hope again. She’s since made the cheerleading squad, and we just learned she has been cleared to get her driver’s permit after receiving a 2nd normal EEG report; something she’s been wanting to get for over a year. In the 6 years she’s been in dance, this is going to be her first dance recital going into it seizure free. She even got a solo part because she’s beat this!

Kaylee is so excited to finally be able to participate in things she’s been wanting to do since she was a kid!

We drive 50 min each way to get to you guys, but I’d do it all over again in a minute.”

- Calia and Callyr

“Before starting care here, Calia was having a lot of accidents when we were potty training and she was having difficulties with speech and vision. With Callyr, it was mostly mood related things we noticed and also sleeping through the night issues before starting here.

We tried speech therapy for Calia, they said she was progressing as expected then when we started doing chiropractic care, they noticed how much better she was doing and accelerated the process.

It was a couple months in when we saw improvements with speech and vision (eye crossing) for Calia. She also stopped having accidents as much and was more eager to go potty instead of putting up a fight. For Callyr, she was consistently sleeping through the night much more.

Calia is a lot more confident now approaching kids she doesn’t know because her speech is better. She used to never want to talk to anyone but now she does.

We wanted to support their well-being and overall wellness with chiropractic care.”
